Find the value of 21 + 4(3/\2 - 5). The two after the three is an exponent.

use PEMDAS - order of operations

First work out the the parentheses:-
21 + 4(3^2 - 5)
= 21 + 4(9 - 5)
= 21 + 4*4 Now the multiplication:-
= 21 + 16
= 37

first. distribute and multiply the the 4 to the 3^2 and the -5
so then it becomes 21+ 36 - 20
second. add and subtract that
answer is: 37
