Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.

1/2 (6−z) = z

(1/2) (6) + (1/2) (-z) = z (distribute)

3 + -1/2z = z

-1/2z + 3 = z

Step 2: Subtract z from both sides.

-1/2z + 3 - z = z - z

-3/2z + 3 = 0

Step 3: Subtract 3 from both sides.

-3/2z + 3 - 3 = 0 - 3

-3/2z = -3

Step 4: Multiply both sides by 2/(-3).

(2/-3) * (-3/2z) = (2/-3) * (-3)

z = 2

Answer: z = 2

I hope this helps you!:) Sorry it took me so long!
