The car traveled 11 miles, but the 2 point's in between distance is 5 miles. This is found using the Pythagorean theory. If you need any more help, please comment! I hope that this helped. :)

Answer:

d = 11 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Total distance covered by the observer is the total path length that it moved from one point to other

Here we know that

d_1 = 6 miles North

d_2 = 3 miles East

d_3 = 2 miles South

So the total path length here is sum of the total distance

d= d_1 + d_2 + d_3

now we know that

d = 6 + 3 + 2 = 11 miles
