12c^9 + 28c^7

first we find the GCF of 12 and 28.....thats gonna be 4
then, for the exponents.....take the smallest one...it is c^7
so we factor out 4c^7

4c^7(3c^2 + 7) <===

Answer:

4*c^7*(3*c^2+7)

Explanation:

We want to see which common terms are in the polynomial. We can take out the small exponent of c and take out the common number term

The smallest exponent of c is 7 so according to the product rule, exponents of the same base are added to one another:

c^7(12*c^2+28)

We can also see that dividing by 4 can get a smaller numbers and therefore 4 can be factored as well:

4*c^7*(3*c^2+7)
