Explanation:

Derived units are defined as the units which are derived from the seven basic units specified by the International systems of units. They can be expressed as a product of base units or it can be dimensionless. For example joule per kilogram, newton per metre. The names when written in full of the derived units are always in lower case.

Unit is defined as a determinate quantity adopted as the standard of measurement.
