Given the functions below,

\begin{gathered} f(x)=x^2-2x+3 \\ f(x)=-6x \end{gathered}

Let us equate the two functions together,

-6x=x^2-2x+3

Collecting like terms,

\begin{gathered} x^2-2x+3+6x=0 \\ x^2-2x+6x+3=0 \end{gathered}
x^2+4x+3=0

Let us now solve for x,

\begin{gathered} x^2+x+3x+3=0 \\ x(x+1)+3(x+1)=0 \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} (x+1)(x+3)=0 \\ x+1=0\text{ or x+3=0} \\ x=-1\text{ or x=-3} \\ x=-1\text{ or -3} \end{gathered}

Hence, the values of x are ( -3 , - 1).
