The district of Columbia has a very high population density. There are 646,449 people in 68.3 square miles

b) Alaska is 570,374 square miles in area. If Alaska had the same population density as the District of Columbia, how many people would live in Alaska?

We know that there are 646,449 people for every 68.3 square miles, so:

646,449 people : 68.3 square miles = X : 570,374 square miles

We know that the : symbol signifies division therefore,

646,449 / 68.3 = X / 570,374

X = 5,398,502,224 people
