The nurse should explain to a client with hemiparesis who is reluctant to use a cane that the cane to maintain balance and improve stability. Hemiparesis also known as unilateral paresis refers to a state when half of the body is weakened. It then leads to loss of balance, difficulty in walking, and loss of coordination.
