Greetings!

"How to solve for
x:1/5x+2=-1?"...

1/5x+2=-1
Add -2 to both sides.

(1/5x+2)+(-2)=(-1) +(-2)
Simplify.

1/5x=-3
Divide both sides by 1/5.

(1/5x)/ 1/5=(-3)/ 1/5
Simplify.

x=(-3/1)*5/1

x=(-15/1)

The variable is equal to -15.

Hope this helps.
