Solution

For this case we can find the area of each triangle in the following way:

Total area is:

A= 1*1 =1

We can assume that the lenght of each side of the square is 1 then we can find the area of a like this:

a = 1/2 (1/2*1/2) = 1/8

c = 1/2 (1/2*1/2) = 1/8

We can find the area of part b like this:

b= 1/2 - 1/8 -1/8 = 1/4

We can find the proportion for the figure d like this:

d= 1/2 (1/2*1/2)= 1/8

And for the part e we can do the following:

e= 1/2 - 1/8= 3/8
