In order to be a good advocate, it is necessary to have a clear position. To best communicate the position and fight for what you think is right, it is best to have a few clear and specific messages. Too much information can hurt the messages and get confusing. Also, it can spread you thin if you're all over the place. True advocacy does not mean you need to advocate for several causes. A letter to the media not ineffective and the best form of advocacy is face-to-face, not the written word.
