Sinclair was exposed to Socialist politics as a young writer and quickly became convinced by the movement's premise. Socialism is an economic theory that promotes worker ownership of the resources of production.

Answer and Explanation: Upton Sinclair was an American writer. He wrote "The Jungle", a novel that reflects the explotation of the immigrants in the US. In order to contrast the lige of the rich and the poor he uses a same initial situation. Two children with the same disease, the rich girl gets healed by a surgeon, but the poor boy dies.
