x^2 * h = 6
h = 6%2Fx%5E2
:
Surface area of an open box
S.A. = x^2 + 4(x*h)
;
Replace h with6%2Fx%5E2
S.A. = x^2 + 4(x*6%2Fx%5E2)
;
Cancel x:
S.A. = x^2 + 4(6%2Fx)
:
f(x) = x^2 + 28%6Fx; is the surface area in terms of x
