These clues are called 'binaural' clues. 'Aural' refers to ears and the prefix 'bin' means that the clue requires both ears. These clues usually take two forms: interaural time difference, in which the difference in when the same sound is picked up by both ears is determined, and interaural level difference, in which the difference in loudness is determined.
