11n + 5 = 13n Subtract 11n from both sides
5 = 2n Divide both sides by 2

(5)/(2) = n Switch the sides to make it easier to read
n =
(5)/(2)

Check your answer:

11n + 5 = 13n Substitute n for
(5)/(2)
11(
(5)/(2)) + 5 = 13(
(5)/(2)) Simplify

(55)/(2) +
(10)/(2) =
(65)/(2) Add

(65)/(2) =
(65)/(2)
