What argument does paine use to illustrate the geographic inconvenience of being ruled by great britain

One of Paine's most famous arguments in this regard in "Common Sense" was that it was impractical for such a small island (Britain) to rule over such a vast area of territory (America), since there was no real reason why the colonies "needed" this type of oversight.
