the total number of chocolates =24

x+y=24

where x represents chocolate ate by Ali and y represents Ahmed. Ali ate 14 more.

y+14=x

Substitue this in first equation

\begin{gathered} y+14+y=24 \\ 2y=24-14 \\ 2y=10 \\ y=5 \end{gathered}

so Ahmed ate 5 chocolates. Now, ali ate 14 more, so

x=14+5=19

Ali ate 19 chocolates.
