x^2 + 10x + 10 = 14
x^2 + 10x = 14 - 10
x^2 + 10x = 4
x^2 + 10x + 25 = 4 + 25
(x + 5)^2 = 29
x + 5 = (+-) sqrt 29
x = -5 (+-) 5.39

x = -5 + 5.39 = 0.39 <==
x = -5 - 5.39 = - 10.39 <==
