Laws have differences according to marriage and rights for women in English and Durch colonies, when they got married under the law of a Dutch colony their property and wealth became wealth of the community ( the marriage) and the husband became the administrator of it, In English colonies women had the right to make a premarital contract where all properties and wealth were ser apart from each other and she was considered an autonomous individual.
