Coordinate rule (x,y)-->(2x-5, 3y) to the pre-image point (-2,3). What is its image?

1) Considering that generally, we represent transformations like this:

Pre-image ------------------> Image

(-2, 3) (2x-5, 3y)

2) So let's equate each coordinate and find out

-2 = 2x -5 Add 5 to both sides

-2 +5 = 2x

3 =2x

x=3/2

3y = 3

y=1

So we have the following rule:

Pre-image Image

(-2,3) ----------------------> (3/2, 1)
