What enabled more white males to gain the right to vote throughout the first decades of the 1800s?

Not everyone owned property in those times, and in order to vote, the rules stated that a person had to have some sort of property ownership. However, in the early 1800s, these laws were turned over, giving more men the opportunity to vote.
