Here, we want to learn how to convert mixed fraction to an improper fraction
An improper fraction is one in which the numerator is larger in value than the denominator
Before we proceed , we have to identify the fraction parts as follows;
So, to make the conversion, we follow these steps;
a) Multiply the denominator by the first number
In the case of the example shown, that would be (3 * 1) = 3
b) Add the result to the numerator value
That would be (3 + 2 ) = 5
c) Place this over the denominator
That would be 5/3
