g=(1/6)(w+40) To get the 1/6 to the other side we multiply by 6 , divide by 1
6g=w+40 Subtract 40
6g-40=w Here is your answer :)

Answer:

w=6g-40

Explanation:

We have been given an equation
g=(1)/(6)(w+40). We are asked to solve our given equation for w.

First of all, we will multiply both sides of our equation by 6.

6\cdot g=6\cdot(1)/(6)(w+40)

6g=w+40

Switch sides:

w+40=6g

Subtract 40 from both sides:

w+40-40=6g-40

w=6g-40

Therefore, the value of w for our given equation would be
6g-40.
