3x − y = 2

y = 3x - 2

x + y = 6

x + 3x - 2 = 6

4x - 2 = 6

4x = 6 + 2

4x = 8

x =
(8)/(4)

x = 2

Hence, the x co-ordinate is 2.

Answer:

The x-coordinate of the solution to this system of equations is
2

Explanation:

we have

3x-y=2 ------> equation A

x+y=6 ------> equation B

Adds equation A and equation B

3x-y=2\\x+y=6\\--------\\ 3x+x=2+6\\4x=8\\x=2
