Newton second law of motion is applicable to this question. Newton second law of motion states that a change in motion is proportional to the force applied and it occurs in the direction of the force.
Mathematically, F = F1 - F2
Where F is the net force, F1 is the force in the positive direction while F2 is the force in the negative direction.
For the given question,
F1 = 100N
F2 = 50N
F = 100- 50 = 50.
Therefore, the net force is 50 N.
The net force is 50 N and the force will move the rope in the LEFT direction.
