In Antigone, her goal is to get her brother buried so he can make it to the afterlife rather than watch his corpse rot

In the play Antigone by Sophocles, Antigone wants to bury her brother Polyneices even though it is illegal.

Antigone, the protagonist, wants her brother Polyneices to have a proper burial in defiance of King Creon's edict.

In Greek mythology, Antigone is the daughter of Oedipus and his mother Jocasta. The meaning of the name is, as in the case of the masculine equivalent Antigonus, "worthy of one's parents" or "in place of one's parents".
