-Marie Curie was a Polish and nationalized French scientist. A pioneer in the field of radioactivity, she was the first person to receive two Nobel prizes in different specialties - Physics and Chemistry - and the first woman to hold the position of professor at the University of Paris.
-Albert Einstein was a German physicist of Jewish origin, then nationalized Swiss, Austrian and American. He is considered the most important scientist, known and popular of the twentieth century.
-Louis Pasteur was a French chemist and bacteriologist, whose discoveries were of great importance in various fields of the natural sciences, especially in chemistry and microbiology. Through experiments he definitively refuted the theory of spontaneous generation and developed the germinal theory of infectious diseases.
INVENTORS:
-Thomas Alva Edison was an entrepreneur and a prolific inventor, considered the most important inventor in the United States. He developed many devices that have had great influence around the world, such as the phonograph, the film camera or a durable incandescent light bulb.
-James Watt was a Scottish mechanical engineer and inventor. The improvements he made to the Newcomen machine gave rise to what is known as the steam engine, which would be fundamental in the development of the first Industrial Revolution, both in the United Kingdom and in the rest of the world.
