There are two modes of population growth that are: Exponential curve and the Logistic curve, exponential curve is also known as J-curve and logistic curve is also known as S-curve. When there is no limit of population growth, exponential curve occurs.

Linear growth occurs when population growth slows or stops after a period of exponential growth and it is the type of growth which occurs after a significant and exponential increase in population.
