The scientific method consists of 5 steps:
1) Make an observation. Every scientific inquiry starts by observing a phenomenon

3) Form a hypothesis. In this step, we formulate a possible answer to the question raised at step 2). This hypothesis must be testable, in order to proceed with the further steps.
4) Make a prediction, that must be testable, and that is based on the hypothesis
5) Experiment: in this step, we realize an experiment in which the prediction is tested, and the hypothesis is then verified or falsified, depending on the results of the experiment.
The whole process is then repeated, in case the experiment falsified the hypothesis.
