Answer:

Dear King George lll of Great Britain, I am writing to you because I would like to inform you that you are no longer our king. I write only after long thought about the many issues between us. Some concerns and events over the last few years include that you have abused the colonists’ rights repeatedly and you refused to approve laws that are good to the colonies. You see, in the American colonies, we believe that the purpose of government is to protect the citizens that live here. The government should approve laws such as no drinking and driving and that minors should attend school regularly. It should follow the principles of John Locke, such as people having natural rights. This idea means that people should be able to have rights that come naturally to them. Unfortunately, you have not lived up to these expectations as a ruler. One example of how you have disappointed us is you didn’t approve the laws we suggested for our safety. Another example is you didn’t answer our petitions. A third example is you didn’t live up to your expectations as a king. Please remember that we did try to reason with you first. Remember when we suggested laws for our safety, and then you disapproved them? Or, there was the time we created some petitions, and then you didn’t answer them. Because you have failed to address our concerns, the American colonists are declaring complete independence from you and from your country, Great Britain. We are no longer under your control and from now on, we will create our own laws and elect our own leader.
