The correct answer should be
C. focused only on agriculture

It's either B or C but it shouldn't be B because the growing season wasn't long. They had great opportunities for agriculture. Poor soil and shipbuilding was found in Chesapeake and not in New England colonies such as the Massachusetts Bay.
