The passage talks about acid rain. It affects literally the whole earth. But the species mainly affected are aquatics. It is because it directly affects their living environment that is water. The root cause of the acid rain are us humans because of the pollution we create. The chemicals make the rain acid and that is bad to all of living things on earth.
