6 = x + 2/3

We're simply just trying to get "x" isolated.

So, we must subtract 2/3 from both sides.

6 - 2/3 = x

Simplify.

Turn 6 into an improper fraction.

6 is now 18/3 :)

So, our new problem looks like this :

18/3 - 2/3 = x

Simplify.

16/3 = x

Turn 16/3 into a mixed fraction.

How many times does 3 go into 16? 5 times! :)

So, we do this :

3 × 5 = 15

16 - 15 = 1

So, x = 5 1/3

~Hope I helped!~
