y = -5x - 35.....when x = -8
y = -5(-8) - 35
y = 40 - 35
y = 5

but.........if x = 8
y = -5(8) - 35
y = - 40 - 35
y = - 75

so are u sure x is supposed to be -8 ? or is it supposed to be 8 ?
