Answer:

Kamehameha the Great

Step-by-step explanation:

There are many reasons why King Kamehameha is referred to as Kamehameha the Great. He was the prophecy child born from the chief Keouakupuapaikalaninui and Kekuʻiapoiwa II. There were multiple hōʻailona (signs) that showed he was the prophecy child. First being that when his mother was pregnant, she craved the eye of a tiger shark. In Hawaii, the mothers cravings give insight to what the child will be. Another is that during the time of his birth there was a storm. In Hawaii, if there is a storm while your birth, it signifies that you are a very important person, a leader. Kamehameha earned the name Paiʻea during battle, he was a very strategic and strong leader and warrior. He was given the war god, Kūkaʻilimoku. He was not only a strong warrior and leader, he was also kind and listened to his advisors. He ultimately is the reason why the islands of Hawaiʻi are unified and he became the great leader of Hawaiʻi. There are also many more reasons that contribute to why he can be thought of as Kamehameha the Great, but these are the ones that are most important.
