After losing much of their kingdom to the Hyksos invasion the Egyptians took a while to regain their empire. By the time they did retake what was theirs they had to spend a lot of time and resources winning back the territories of the kingdom. As a result they came in to contact with many different tribes and races this expanded their trade routes and brought about a more cosmopolitan Egypt.
