There are various ways to raise the awareness around the plight of refugees. This can include public lectures, workshops, and social media campaigns. There can be exhibitions showing and explaining that when a refugee escapes his/her country of origin he needs our help as a human being. The actual circumstances in those countries should be made public and they can be urged to imagine this as their own lives.
Local community people can be taken on volunteer work to visit and see the refugee camps and listen to their stories. There can be collaborative working among locals and refugees which can increase awareness.
