A) 1 and 4

Alpha amylase is an enzyme which helps in the digestion of starch. Its digestion begins in the mouth.

Starch is a form of complex carbohydrate i.e consisting of multiple sugar units (polysachharides). It a mixture of amylose (
\alpha -1,4 linked glucose polymers ) and amylopectin (
\alpha -1,4 linked glucose polymers branched by

\alpha -1,6 linkage)

Alpha-amylase performs the digestion of starch by hydrolyzing
\alpha -1,4 glucosidic bond.
