ATP is converted into ADP when energy is needed by an organism. If water were not available in the mitochondria, what would most likely happen?

Without water in the mitochondria, the cell would be unable to hydrolyze unstable ATP into usable, and more stable, ADP, thus there would be no production of usable energy for cellular processes.
