I have to get the variable y by its self.

+x to both sides

3y = x + 6

÷3 both sides

y = x/3 + 2

Add x to both sides.
3y = x + 6

Divide both side by 3.
y = 1/3x + 6/3

y = 1/3x + 2 is the answer.
