it helps you prepare yourself for the future so you can predict whats coming

or it helps you challenge yourself so you can get better

my goal is to beat my friend's Fast race time (16:53) in the next 5k we run so this allows me to set a target for myself to beat instead of just blindly running a 5k and getting a random time
