P = 2L + 2W
A = LW

Perimeter is given so we will use

The perimeter of a rectangle = 2*length + 2*width

Let suppose the width = x

Length = twice the width = 2x

the Perimeter = 72 = 2*2x + 2*x

72 = 4x + 2x

Now we have 72 = 6x, then dividing both sides by 6we get x = 12

So,

Width = 12 cm

Length is 12 x 2 = 24 cm
