Let the unknown number be x.

Given,

10 * x = 12 + (5)/(8) * x

10x = 12 + (5x)/(8)

10x - (5x)/(8) = 12

((10x*8)-5x)/(8) = 12

80x-5x =12*8

75x = 96

x =
(96)/(75) = 1.28

Hence, the number is 1.28
