we have

(x-7)^(2) =36

square root on both sides

(x-7)=(+/-)√(36)

(x-7)=(+/-)6

x=(+/-)6+7

x1=6+7=13

x2=-6+7=1

therefore

the answer is

x1=13

x2=1
