If both are supposed to be "French", then Marie es "francesa" is the answer. If Marie is supposed to be some other nationality such as "American" or "Russian" you would likely add "a" at the end of each.

Marie es rusa for "Marie is Russian" and Marie es americana if she is American. I suspect the answer should be "francesa" simply because it parallels Pierre es frances.
