for a cube
v=s³
SA=6s²
area of 1 side=s²
s=length of 1 edge
so
1728=s³
cube root both sides
12=s
length of an edge is 12in
the area of one side is 12² or 144 in²
surface area is 6s² or 6(144) or 864 in²
