In Malcon Gladwell's work, Marita is a poor young woman, the daughter of a single mother, who has the perception that education is her only chance for a better life. For that Marita had to give up her right to childhood to assume the responsibility of studying in a high school that demanded her absolute dedication, even so young she clung to the opportunity she had, because she saw in education her only possibility of success.
