For number 1 all you have to do is add 6 to both sides of the equation. So -3+6= 3. The answer is positive 3.
And for number 2 the answer is one.

remember, you can do anything to an equationas long as you do it to both sides

1.
-6+x=-3
add 6 to both sides
6-6+x=6-3
0+x=3
x=3

2.
add like terms
-5a+5a+9=8
0a+9=8
0+9=8
9=8
