Answer;
C. Glycolysis
Explanation;
Glycolysis
is the process by which glucose is broken down to two pyruvat6e molecules. It is the first phase of cellular respiration and occurs in both
aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration
.
However,
during anerobic respiration or fermentation,
pyruvate molecules from glycolysis are not converted to acetyl CoA but they are
converted to lactate by lactate dehydrogenase.
During
the reduction of pyruvate to lactate NAD+ is regenerated from NADH of glycolysis,
this
NAD+ is taken back to drive more glycolysis
and produce more energy for the cells.
