Apply midpoint formula:

\text{Midpoint = }(x1+x2)/(2),\text{ }(y1+y2)/(2)

Point 1 = (x1,y1) = (8,-2)

Point 2 = (x2,y2) = (-4,6)

Replace in the formula:

\text{Midpoint = }(8-4)/(2),(-2+6)/(2)=(4)/(2),(4)/(2)=2,2

Midpoint = (2,2)
